In celebration of the Mazda 121 - The Bubble.

When these little Mazda 121's started to appear back in 1994 I really wanted one. Looking at them now I'm not sure what was going on in my head back then, but, they are incredibly cute and quite an interesting design, I suppose. The Mazda 121 was nick-named "The Bubble" or "The Jellybean" or "The Hat". They were produced between 1991 - 1995 and not many seemed to be on our streets at that time so I am guessing they weren't massive seller.
I remember seeing a "pimped" one of these driving around Soho Square in London one Saturday night; it made me laugh out loud.

This made me smile.

I spotted this sign just off Carnaby Street, London.

I live in one of the most sophisticated and grown-up countries in the world - Great Britain!

The rainbow flag flies over a building in Whitehall, close to Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square, Friday, March 28, 2014, to mark the start of same-sex weddings in the UK on Saturday March 29, 2014. It marks a profound shift in attitudes in a country that little more than a decade ago had a law on the books banning the “promotion” of homosexuality.

In celebration of the Aston Martin Lagonda.

1978 the Marquess and Marchioness of Tavistock with their son, Jamie, 3, with the first ever Aston Martin Lagonda car, delivered to their home at Woburn Abbey, near Aston's then factory at Newport Pagnell. It was the marchioness's wedding anniversary gift to her husband.

Behind the smiles was a farcical situation: the car didn't actually work, and was delivered for its photo call on a low-loader. The amazing looking Lagonda developed a well deserved reputation for unreliability for ever more.

However, I love this Concorde-era motor car, they evoke much of what the 1970s were about - the good (design) and the bad (reliability).

Tatty-ham Court Road Underground Station.

Tottenham Court Road Underground Station (never my favourite) is looking pretty dilapidated at the moment. I know it's closing in the near future but I wish they would hurry up with the whole process.
