Looking for Dick Turpin's Dad.

This afternoon I took a walk in St Mary’s Churchyard, Wanstead. A wonderfully atmospheric place where the dead lay under a carpet of ivy and fallen leaves, I was looking for the grave of Dick Turpin’s father who is buried there; unfortunately time seems to have eroded his name from whichever stone lays atop him.

I didn’t locate Mr Turpin senior, so I took these pics instead.

Bowlzee's time as “Poster Boy” for Redbridge Council is well and truly over. I noticed one of the posters lying amongst the sweet wrappers and fag butts at the side of the road the other morning; hey ho!

Comedian Tim Vine has cemented his reputation as king of the one-liners after he won the prize for joke of the year at the annual Lafta awards.


His gag - “Conjunctivitis.com – that’s a site for sore eyes” – saw off competition from acts including Jimmy Carr and Paul Daniels, the magician. Genius!
