Loughton Tube Station

I often find myself waiting on this Essex tube station and thinking to myself that it's a great example of London Transport architecture.

Quentin Crisp beside his asthmatic gas-fire in his London bedsit.

This photograph has the quality of a Vermeer painting; wonderful.

This room could destroy a man's soul, if he were to spend any amount of time in it.

This is the kitchen/ storage area/soul destroying void of a building I happened to be attending a course in recently - I particularly like the dead plant in the corner.

A Redbull and a free Kazoo.

It's half-term holidays and this made me smile and wince at the same time.

A sad bouquet.

View from the eighth.

Took this picture from the eighth floor of Wentworth House, Gants Hill, Ilford. See the City of London in distance. High man!

Celebrating the Fiat Strada/Ritmo

When an orange Fiat Strada arrived at our home back in 1979 I truly thought that "The Car of The Future", had arrived; it looked like nothing else on the road.
Our own Fiat Strada had a little loose-fitting plaque by the gear-stick stating it was "Pre-production model number 6". the registration number was EBY 480T and I loved it! I sat and played for hours with the ill-fitting cheap plastic switches and the radio held a particular fascination for me, until I was banned from the Strada for draining the battery.
I wonder where EBY 480T is now; rusted away like a Steradent tablet left out in the rain, probably.

Polly's favourite television programme - Inside the Animal Mind.

Polly watching Chris Packham (she's a big fan) on Inside the Animal Mind.

Catching rainbows.

Caught this rainbow last week on my Nokia Lumia 1020; it was hanging around outside my office window.

Valentines Park, Ilford, Essex - A Winter scene.

Swans in the park.

Snapped these crafty bunch the other day.

Recently vacated.

I find it both interesting and deeply depressing to look at recently vacated properties, like the two above, on property websites. They are usually the spaces recently inhabited by elderly folk who have either shuffled into a retirement "home" or shuffled off this mortal coil; it is a fate that awaits many us in the future, our spaces emptied and our treasured possessions redistributed.
